I offer personal parent coaching for committed parents on how to raise responsible, caring, confident children in enlightened and loving ways.

• You will not learn how to make parenting easy, convenient or time-efficient.

• My coaching is not about what happens to you as a parent. It is about who you decide to become because of what happens to you as a parent.
• Parent coaching is not therapy and is in no way intended to replace appropriate therapy where needed. It is parenting education at its finest.

Question: Who needs coaching?

Answer:

Be assured that sometime during the 18-22 years of purposeful parenting we can all benefit from the advice and encouragement of an attentive, non-judgmental coach. Especially from someone who generates practical, non-violent, ideas that work!

Major league baseball players have coaches. There is a fielding coach as well as one for hitting, pitching, base-running and there is even a coach to help these professionals master the mental aspects of the game. If the best baseball players in the world, who have been trained their entire lives to play baseball, can benefit from a coach, so can we who often have had little training in this sacred and important role of parenting children.

Question: How does it work?

Answer:

I work mainly with individuals or couples by phone. You can have single sessions or receive coaching on a monthly basis. I recommend the monthly format for a minimum of three months. Often it takes a few months to build your skill level and create the consistency that is necessary to allow the parenting techniques to work.

If you are generally pleased with your parenting efforts and occasionally need encouragement or a different perspective, single sessions, as needed, are an option.

Question: What is your background that qualifies you as a parent coach?

Answer:

I am a veteran educator who has invested more than 40 years working with children, parents, teachers, and care-givers. I am on a mission to empower parents, teachers, and care-givers so they can in turn empower the children they love and serve.

I am the developer of the Parent Talk System, a series of verbal skills that have put the language of parenting into concise bites that parents can begin to use immediately and effectively with their children. I have trained trainers in the Parent Talk System in 18 states and 5 countries.

I am the father of four children and five grandchildren and recently single parented two of my grandchildren for three years.

I am the author of “Parent Talk: How to Talk to Your Children in Language that Builds Self-Esteem and Encourages Responsibility” and the co-author of “The 10 Commitments: Parenting with Purpose.”

Question: What is my investment in this program?

Answer:

Your investment in your children depends on how long you choose to participate. My hourly phone rate or in person (if local) rate is $175 for a one hour session.

The monthly rate is $325 for the month and includes an intake session of an hour to an hour and a half designed for me to get to know you and your family. Three 45 minute phone contacts per month and three email contacts per month are also included.
